Duncan is a Former RAF Physical Training instructor, with a specific interest in sports injuries, he has competed at national track and field level which was halted due to serious injury and is now a competitive cross country mountain biker, his many injuries over the years have enabled Duncan to have greater empathy with his patients giving a greater understanding of recovery and the work involved to return to a persons normal!

Duncan has worked in the NHS and Private hospital sector prior to setting up Midas Physio, as well as clinical expertise he has a particular interest in post-operative rehab, of which he has access to a state of the art gym supplied with Precor and technogym equipment. We not only aim to relieve patients symptoms but also identify the source of the problem to reduce the possibility of recurring conditions happening.

We have fitted out clinic with a Noble Elite treadmill which can do 20kph great for those assessments for our runners or walkers alike, a K-Sport wall mounted bar rig to ensure stability and safety on fixed exercises, and a Wattbike which can give baseline data and pedalling efficiency information to ensure a full use of muscle groups.

Bernie Hards

Bernie Hards

Bernie is always the person on the end of the phone, running an office outside of the leisure centre, she can deal with general enquiries, making or rearranging appointments or she is always happy to just have a chat.. Bernie is an ex semi pro cyclist and has represented GB for duathlon also. In 2012 Bernie was diagnosed with a brain aneurysm which unfortunately ruptured and has left her with a left side disability. This hasn’t stopped her we still get her on a tandem and she keeps to her exercise regime. So when we say we live and breathe rehab… we really do!! Bernie will always try and accommodate a session in the diary wherever possible to assist the patient to be seen as soon as we can.
